St. Francis Back Vestibule

As in years past, this event invites quiet conversation while sharing a warm drink and homemade treats, then transitions into self-paced quiet time in the sanctuary with gentle music and a simple, loosely-structured set of materials designed to deepen your intimacy with God and provide tools for a meaningful Advent and Christmas season. Flexible ending time. Please encourage many friends to come with you!

Updated instructions: Each participant is asked to bring one toboggan cap and a warm pair of socks to this event as a way of blessing the homeless in our community.  We discovered that sock sizes are different for men and women, so please choose whether you’d like to buy socks and a hat for a man or a woman. When you sign up on the women’s bulletin board, please so indicate with a “W” or “M” beside your name. No need to wrap these items because you will be given  a drawstring bag to hold them as well some other items that St. Francis is providing.  We are hoping to provide bags for 20 men and 20 women.

Sometimes, despite your best intentions, circumstances intervene and you find that you cannot attend. Should that happen, we ask that you remove your name from the list or let the event planners know as far in advance as possible.

Join us November 14th at 6pm in the Sanctuary for our November Prayer and Praise.  This is a great opportunity to introduce people to liturgical worship with songs and worship that are familiar.  Come and worship with us.  Bring a friend who might want to know more about our church and our worship.  You won’t be disappointed.

After each Sunday Eucharistic service, prayer will now be available in two forms:

1) Trained members of the prayer team will be on hand to pray for you personally and confidentially for any need.  Simply walk over to any prayer team member (identified by a red badge), and you will be joined by one or more other prayer team members, move to a quiet corner, and be prayed for.

2) Blue prayer request cards have been placed in all pew pockets if you would prefer to submit a request in writing.  Just fill out a card and drop it in either of the two red boxes (one at the back of the church and one on the table beside the door to the fellowship hall).  Prayer team members will pray for written requests during the subsequent week.

Please be assured that all prayer requests are held in strictest confidence.  Never consider a prayer need too small, too trivial…or too big! Prayer team members always begin by listening for God’s direction, and only then do they verbalize the prayers that they sense on God’s heart for you.  Please take advantage of these new opportunities to receive God’s comfort and peace!
